Instead of throwing away your old rubber tires, how about turning them into art?

Every year over 24 million tires are discarded in Texas, and over 44.4 million tires are discarded in California.  That’s almost 100 million waste tires generated between two U.S. states, so you can imagine how many billions of scrap tires are thrown away each year by the entire world.  It’s well over a billion!  I’d like to think that most of these tires are getting recycled into asphalt and other rubber products, but sadly many of these tires are sitting in landfills, junkyards and on the side of the road, breeding mosquitoes and taking up green space.

Lucky for us, there are many green artists out there who are recycling rubber tires into beautiful pieces of art.  Huge, towering art sculptures to be exact.  Take a look at these awe-inspiring recycled tire sculptures and see what you think.
