You can easily make a set of "bowling pins" from the drinkable yoghurt bottles. Just remove the shrinkwrap, and keep the bottles the original white, or you can add a few rings of paint around the side, to make them look like an authentic bowling pin design. Use an old rubber ball for the bowling ball, or even a whiffle ball if you're playing inside on a rainy day.

Illuminated glow bracelets create their own disposable waste! EEEEK. Instead, a reusable glow-in-the-dark toy would work in the pool at night. Or buy some glow-in-the-dark paint additive and DIY.

I am surprised a recyclebank article would advocate the purchase of disposable junk like glow bracelets..... unless it is referring to a greener version, in which case it should educate readers on the details. Could be a good pre-Halloween article!

I would have loved seeing the instructions for making the suggested items (the DIY bubble wand in particular)

Hi Michael - they can be hard to see, but there are embedded links for instructions for many of these products we mentioned in the piece. For instance, here's where I found the DIY bubble wand instructions: https://www.verywell.com/bubble-wands-289722
