A former gym floor gets an updated look in a cute London flat thanks to a UK-based wood flooring company.
If you’re a fan of reclaimed wood flooring and you also love sports, then you might want to consider doing what the owners of a London flat just did. The owners decided to take the old wood floor from a nearby school gym and turn it into stylish and sustainable flooring for their home.
This beautiful wood flooring (complete with original sports markings) was reclaimed, rebuffed, remastered and reinstalled by McKay Flooring, a family-owned UK business that has been around for 37 years. Besides reusing old wood, the company goes green by harvesting trees that have fallen naturally in Scottish parks and other green spaces. The company also reuses scrap pieces of wood to patch up holes in existing flooring.
Take a look at a few pictures of the London flat:
This reclaimed flooring is colorful, sustainable and doesn’t look half bad. Okay, it may not be up your alley, but you’ve got to give credit to McKay Flooring for being creative. The more wood we recycle, the less trees we have to cut down!
