Match The Plastic Product With Its Recycling Number 5

How well do you know your plastic recycling numbers? Test yourself!

Resin ID Code (RIC) numbers inside the chasing-arrows recycling symbol on plastic products DOES NOT mean that that item is always recyclable. The number simply identifies the type of plastic the product is made of. While a plastic may technically be recyclable, whether that kind of plastic is recyclable in your area depends on if your recycling program accepts it. For instance, #6 expanded polystyrene (EPS), commonly known as Styrofoam, is technically recyclable, but most curbside recycling programs in the US don’t accept it.
