A To-Go Box Perfect for a Picnic in the Park

By |

Find a lunchbox that’s both shiny and sustainable, and then enjoy a green picnic outdoors.

To-Go Ware 2 Tier Stainless Steel Lunchbox
$24.99 from One Twine

One of my absolute favorite things to do in the summer is pack some snacks and hang in the park — I find a handful of friends, a huge tree to camp under, and devour all the goodies in the luxurious shade. The main question is always how to bring said sustenance to the park in the first place.

This 2 Tier Stainless Steel Lunchbox from To-Go Ware is a swell idea. It’s reuseable, of course, and the top bit doubles as a plate. By ditching the paper or plastic, you’re keeping a lot more than you think out of the landfill: Although a growing percentage of paper and plastic products are being properly recycled every year, there’s still a lot going to the landfill. Some of the stuff that ends up in the landfill could have been recycled, but some — like used paper plates — couldn’t have been. By making use of a reusable product for your lunches and snacks, you’re helping to reduce the amount that gets thrown out, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and conserving natural resources along the way.

Anyway, back to the accolades: This luxe lunchbox is super cute. And, if you ever tire of the ol’ thing — thought I can’t imagine anyone would — it’s recyclable, too. So you can snack sustainably without a care in the world. Besides, we all know how I love shiny.

We babysit our grandkids and a great activity for them, and us, is to decorate a mid-size box, something large enough to hold your picnic, using colorful magic markers, keeps the kids entertained while you are busy making sandwiches! They have fun coloring and creating cute artwork while getting ready to leave for your favorite park!
